Building’s outer wall decoration is a heavy synthetic
work which demands large working capacity, long construction period and
much working labor. Traditional Construction Methods are:u
A. Erect scaffolding along building’s vertical wall. This
method has disadvantages such as more working labor, longer time, more
area, more steel materials, higher price and larger transportation
quantity.
(Except attached scaffolding mentioned in this report)
B. Adopt simple suspended platform. This method’s
disadvantages are: steel rope has to be suspended from the top of
building to fix the platform and workers have to move the platform up
and down by hands. The mechanism is inconvenient for use, unsafe and
demands higher working strength and lower efficiency.
Electric suspended platform at height has been used for
more than 40 years abroad; it has advanced technique, reliable quality
and safe working guarantees. Since 1980s we started to design electric
suspended platform at height by ourselves and gradually put it into
batch production. This product spread quickly in China with the boom of
high-rise buildings and urban construction. In 2000 alone, 4000 units of
electric suspended platform were produced. It has overcome the above
disadvantages and shown following features: convenient installation,
electric move up and down, high working efficiency, small occupation
area, equipped with working rope and safety rope and adapted to various
complicated construction environment. This machine has better shown its
advantage for construction work in big city’s high-rise buildings, in
dense residential buildings, and in the maintenance of residential
quarters.
According to statistics,using
suspended platform can save construction cost by 30% than scaffolding,
while the working rate is 3 times that of scaffolding. The new product
provided by us is simple in its structure. The maintenance rate is low,
while its safety and reliability are largely increased and the economic
and social benefits are considerable.

Safety device for working platform at height
Through analysis and research on existing suspended
platform safety device domestically and abroad, this research concluded
a complete and systematical set of design methods. This research has
reached the pre-determined target of scientific/technical research
contract with the Ministry of Construction:
1.
Analysis and comparison of existing safety lock on
suspended platform both domestically and abroad, theoretical analysis
and parameter selection for several types of safety lock’s rope-locking
system and tripping system.
2.
Research on the overspeed protection device and overload
protection device of suspended platform. Making an inquiry into the
adaptability and design methods of the two devices.
3.
Development of three types of safety locks. Making the
performance testing and comparison, providing adequate basis for safe
and reliable use of the suspended platform.
This achievement passed technical verification organized
by the Scientific and Technical Department of the Ministry of
Construction. The conclusion of the verification is: Through analysis of
existing suspended platform’s safety device domestically and abroad, and
theoretical analysis and comparison test for safety lock’s rope-locking
system, tripping system and suspended platform’s overspeed and overload
protection device, this research fruit has provided basis for further
safety design and calculation of working platform at height, reformed
the centrifugal fly-block type safety lock in material and technology,
and developed anti-inclination swing-arm type safety lock and wedged
swing-arm type safety lock. After comparison test and users’
verification, we consider them the ideal safety device for working
platform at height. To conclude, the reliability research on the safety
device of working platform is successful, it provides a complete set of
design method for the safety device of suspended platform at height,
filling domestic blank and reached international advanced level.
ZLD 350, ZLD 400 new working platform at height
ZLD 350, ZLD 400 new suspended working platform at height
(abbr. to suspended platform below) are products designed and developed
by the Institute of Building Mechanization, China Academy of Building
Research.
They are widely used in the construction and decoration
process for high-rise building’s outer wall, also in elevator
installation, inspection and maintenance of bridges, chimneys and large
container projects.
Suspended platform mainly consists of suspension
platform, hoist machine, safety lock, working steel rope, safety steel
rope, suspension mechanism and electric control system. The lifting
machine and safety lock are the key components in the product.
The lifting machine of this product adopts “a” shape
climbing-lifting type mechanism. Its working steel rope shapes an “a”
structure around the drive disk. The friction force between the steel
rope and the drive disk actuates the suspended platform up and down when
the drive disk rotates.
The safety lock designed in this product is wedged
anti-inclination safety lock. If the steel rope breaks or the suspension
platform’s inclination reaches its limit, the safety lock will lock up
automatically and the safety steel rope will stop the movement or
inclination of the suspension platform.
This product has passed the verification of the Science
and Technique Department of the Ministry of Construction. The conclusion
of the verification says: Compared to existing “s” shape lifting
machine, the dead weight of the lifting machine in the new product
reduced 50%~55% of the dead weight, the energy consumption reduced
30%~40%, the manufacturing cost reduced 15%~20%. The safety lock adopted
in the achievement has simple structure, good reliability and complete
function. It performs rope-locking function both when the working steel
rope breaks and when the suspension platform inclines. Its main
technical performance is at the national leading level.
This product has been put in use in Hubin Mansion in
Hangzhou and Global Mansion in Hongkong for outer wall decoration and
finishing work and obtained good feedback from its users.
Compare to old product, this product’s cost, weight and
energy consumption are largely reduced. If we calculate a production
quota of 100 units per year, then 17.5 tons of steel materials will be
saved and the profit will be increased by RMB 7 million.
One imported machine with the same performance will need
RMB 150000, which is 4~5 times higher than this product.
